  1. Some old muckers of mine who now run 20 Cadet Training Team in Taunton are aiming to do a 7 day event in aid of the ABF and H4H which involves the following:

    THE CHALLENGE

    1. The challenge will take in 3 known physical events; all to run continuously! These will be:

    a. The Exe Descent. This white water race takes in kayaking down a 19 mile length of the River Exe in Devon from the North of Tiverton to Exeter, tackling 10 weirs and torrid waters from start to finish. Once completing the finish line in Exeter the team will depart for Snowdonia to tackle “The Three Peaks”.

    b. The Three Peaks. An event which encompasses climbing the three highest peaks in Great Britain within 24 Hours; Mount Snowden in North Wales, Scafell Pike in the Lake District; Cumbria and Ben Nevis in the Glencoe region of Scotland. The challenge includes transit times between each mountain range. Once the team have descended Ben Nevis; the final peak, they will move immediately on up to John O’Groats to tackle the last event of cycling the near 900 mile journey to Lands Ends.

    c. John O’Groats to Lands End cycle challenge. On arrival at John O’Groats the cycle will commence with the team pairing up to initially peddle 3 hour legs each before handing over to the next pair. The cycling pairs will be supported by their own support crews for administration and safety purposes throughout the continuous 900 mile journey. The journey is planned to take no more than 4 days.

The event will cease when all the cyclists reach Lands End.

I personally think this is a fekking nails event and would like to see them exceed the sum they have in mind (£5k) for those who would like to put their hands in their pockets for these worthy causes go to just giving
