Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

It seems that the Army has decided to make this announcement - which will affect thousands of people's lives - the day after the Army knocks off on leave.

This means that rather than receiving a brief from their Commanding Officers and being given the opportunity to ask questions, SP are being briefed via the medium of Facebook.

Is this deliberate? Is this modernity? Or is this a STRATCOM fail?

    What announcement?

  3. Any hint as to what the announcement is?

    Or do we guess?

  4. If you are on Facebook you can hear it from Gen Carter himself.

  5. Alas, I'm not 12.

  7. I believe the army has had little say in when it was allowed to make the announcement. Guess who else finish on 20 Dec for Christmas ^~

  11. As hilarious as this joke is, the majority of serving personnel under the age of 40 are on Facebook.

(edited to add, it's anecdotal, not statistical evidence, before anyone complains)
