A Very Merry St George's day to all (even Earth and Yars and Remainiacs)

#1
This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,--
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.
"King Richard II", Act 2 scene 1

Just about sums it all up for me, how about you?

I did notice that Khan decided London would celebrate St George's Day yesterday.

Born in a mining town in '58.
When black and white TV was up to date.
And men where still around.
Who fought for freedom. Stood their ground and died.
That I could be alive and see the damage,
that we've managed since.
In this septred isle. Is nothing sacred.
Just a one square mile.
Bruce Dickinson, Born in 58

Feels more like a slow descent into the third world to me, and what is it with having foreign patron saints anyway....

Well, England isn't actually an isle for a start but given it's Shakespeare, we can all pretend that it is.
