A question

While dashing for the train, I glimpsed a fellow dressed in no 2 dress trousers and cap with an mtp style jacket, carrying a pace stick talking on a mobile. Automatically I quickly checked his cap badge and continued up the stairs to the platform. Here I did a mental double take, as his cap badge appeared to be Them.
My question is this; is the winged dagger badge worn on a cap or a beret as part of no 2? Is it a plain black metal badge with no background?
I am not going to go back to take a proper look as A) I am now 20 miles away! And B) if he is gen, I do not wish to upset a Them WO!

Struck me as a bit odd as I always thought They would travel incognito, but half 6 is an odd time to Walt!

Them in SD caps? Not since the 1950s.

I will ask M*** C****** the former RSM if any WO's wear SD caps but I'd imagine it would be 'No'

"A former RSM" would have possibly been better, but I am happy to be put right.
