A new ideology?

#1
Capitalism is the preferable choice of the West, but it does have it's downsides and limitations as we all know.
Communism on the other hand is the preferable choice of the East, but again has some serious downsides.

So why not create a new ideology by carefully selecting the best elements from both formats and then fusing them both together to harvest the very best of both worlds?

The question is ... Could this be a realistic workable idea that would benefit all of British society ?

yes its called socialism. problem is no one can precisely agree to the crux of it which is the extent of state involvement in peoples lives.

Utopia didn't do Thomas More any good in 1500s

And extremely unlikely while you still have the seven deadly sins

ALways good for zero unemployment and and end to any idea of a benefits culture.

Arbiets does not mach der chavs frei, but it does allow you to employ them for free.;P
Let us not forget, that when (not if!) the chavs start getting on your tits, you can always send them off on a "camping" holiday, at one of the newly constructed camps.:muhaha:

Well, some state ownership of vital services such as public transport could not be a bad thing.

And it would kill off all the rip off merchants out there too!

If all loans were to go through government, that's the loan sharks obliterated once and for all.

Government would be strictly limited to the amount of intrusion it could impose into a private citizen's life.

Looking good so far. :)

Capitalism is fucked, it's just a massive pyramid scheme, the winners are already at the top.

Socialism is fucked, people LIKE owning stuff.

Civilisation will move on regardless.

Wunh? Tell me, in your world, do you still use jumpers for goal posts?

How many disasterous examples of State micro-management do you need? Communism, in all it's forms, has consistently been shown to-how shall I put this?-under perform. And the most recent example of a 'right-wing' (National Socialism was, simplistically, Communism but with sexier uniforms) political and governmental system would have imploded even if Germany had won the war.

Is that why China is now a superpower? :)

You think so? It has applied Keynsian policy with great effect, having decided over the last 20 years or so that, whilst 'The East Is Red' looks good as backdrop in the Hall Of The People, it means cock-all when applied outside the national border.

Central planning has little to do with China's current world position.
