What caught him?
That is not a matelot.
If he was a matelot the clubs would be blue, being red they make him a bootneck.Bloke on the left absolutely IS a matelot - hence the PO clubs insignia on his string vest.
The RN provide Royal with a host of non-steely eyed killah roles....every single medic for one....PTIs for another.

RM have their own medics as well as RN ones. Unless you know more than @Ninja_Stoker? I've met a few, including one who was a Grav, then a Clerk and then managed to get on the Medic draft in 2018. Also knew a RM signaller who went medic and then back to sigs.Medic Specialisation-does it exist?
Hi there fellas, as the title says just wanted to know about if a medic specialisation role exists to General Duties Marines. Or are all the guys at a unit just trained in advanced first aid anyway? Either way, I've got no clue so any insight would be great. Cheerswww.royalmarines.uk

What was chasing him?
All gone to feather mattresses since dad and the Waddington Wing slept under the aircraft during the Cuban missile crisis.I thought that this was all genuine until I re-read this paragraph:
"One young pilot told of having to spend two nights in tented accommodation, despite the fact that there was a five-star hotel just 1km away"
No RAF senior officer who are all mainly pilots would ever let his chaps and chapesses endure such indignities and humiliation.
