A Coincidence, or............

.................... a leak of personal data?

About nine months ago, as a result of a blood test, I was referred for tests relating to a possible 'problem' with my prostate.

Two years ago I took advantage of a 'bowel cancer screening' test.

Astonishingly, my emails have been flooded with 'cures' for impotence; erectile dysfunction; self administered colon cleaning kit and other twaddle.

Is is simply coincidence, or is the 'Mandelson/Campbell' NHS system 'selling off' data to stupid companies?

Any other guys experiencing this nonsense?

Funnily enough I recently took advantage of a free offer to sign up to a gay dating agency just for a laugh (hey we all like a bit of attention now and then.)

Amazingly since then, my inbox has been absolutely flooded with emails from various gay websites and advertising agencies.

Strange eh?

Definitely a Labour conspiracy of some sort.

Since I performed my last bank robbery the police keep looking at me in a 'Curious' way and I don't like it.

I'm sure that NuLabour are to blame for this disgraceful situation.

I always used to find that I'd be inundated with loan offers immediately after signing up to one. Bit late, I can only afford one...

As a lay person I would assume that, under the Data Protection Act you'd have to tick a box to allow anyone to pass on information to third parties. If you've ticked the box that allows them to send you information they feel may be useful to you then you've given them permission to spam you I'm afraid. Any genuine advertiser (not all spam is iffy) will give you the option to opt out of further correspondence.
Failing that arm yourself with a shotgun and rifle and head off for the nearest NHS HQ, let me know how you get on. ;)
