A box of brand new Springer Spanners

#1
Well 2 days early, the puppies descended on the Snozzers household. The scan showed 7 but maybe 8 or 9, but the end result was different.

We had 7 in the 1st batch the last one being stillborn, so we though okay 6 is cool the scan was spot on. 3 hours later another one appeared followed in quick succession by three more. The just after midnight 2 more crashed into the world making 12 little spanners. Mum and puppies doing well. Mum looks emaciated and has had a sausage breakfast as a treat (a lot of treats heading her way in the next week to build her back up).

Now, for the pictures.

Brilliant, pictures of new born pups, shouldn't this be under "Life's simple pleasures" thread?

She looks a lot like mine - 12 first litter, 10 the second - all found good homes and I now wish we'd kept one. Despite more mouths than nipples, she ran a tight ship and rotated them around - quite amazing feat of mothering. Great dogs.

Where are you in case I decide to increase dog holdings........

Thanks for all the comments. We are keeping one, two are pre-ordered, but as we were only expecting 7, we have a few extra. They have been legally tail docked today and will come with certificate, microchipped and first set of jabs at around the 9-10 week stage all being well. We have a pretty even split of dogs and bitches.

PM if you're seriously interested, we are based in Warwickshire.

Okay, love them comments, but need help with names.

So far we have "3 spots diagonal", "3 spots in triangle", "Big splotch left shouder with white stripe on head" You get the idea.

Suggestions please?

I found that regardless what you call them or name them on the KC reg forms the new owners pick names anyway so we rarely bothered if the pups were all baggsed. In fact we would often wait to register them until the new owners had decided that way they can look at the cert on their wall in perpetuity knowing they picked a naff name!

Good luck with selling them, its a tough market out there!

They are damned addictive, one isnt enough and before you know it you have a working pack spread across the age groups.
