Builds A-1 AD-6 Douglas Skyraider in 1/32nd scale

Bit of progress on the engine. It’s still shiny at the minute

Can’t remember if I posted what I used on the first engine, so if anyone is interested

these are Alclad paints. Really limited range but absolutely stunning with the consistency of water. Takes some getting used to applying it.

gloss black base is the primer. On the engine blocks I’ve then applied high speed sliver.

exhausts are black base again followed by pale burnt metal, then exhaust manifold then hot metal serpia to finish.

I think I have the entire Alclad range in my garage, still not used any

I know I’ve already built one so I hope no one minds a chunk of shots of this build, but it’s just such an ace plane.

It’s amazing that something as compact as that engine had the power to drag that great lump and its weapon load around the sky. Another stunning build Si, keeps the pics coming.

Don't forget that's a Double Wasp, so basically two engines.

Propellers arrived from Sunny Australia this morning, which is only two weeks from order which is not bad.

so now you can see how inaccurate the ones on the first Spad are. Not sure if I will replace them yet, but these are going on the Korean War Spad.

I wish! Born the same year that the Americans possibly or possibly did NOT land in the moon.
