Just wondering if anyone knows where these new units will be based?
Heard it would be somewhere in Central Scotland, probably the Hebs.
Why cannot there be one of the lost Highland Regiments resurrected to be these battalions -
Hebs, Central Scotland???
If you are from Scotland the Hebs are actually the centre of the universe. Many people don't realise the locals are descendents of an alien race which over time has started to resemble humans with the exception of a sixth finger. If you talk to the locals they still speak some alien dialect known as Gaelic . A REME Bn situated there would enable superior beings from the Island to work along side our tradesmen and assist them with complex issues such as LEAN. Just imagine a LEAN line with all those extra fingers.
im actually from one of those islands.

Lovely group of Islands I'm sure you would agree. What one are you from? The one with the tree, the nice jewellers or the one closest to America? If it wasnât for the wind and cold it would be nearly tropical.

8 and 9 bn made up from TA Reg RHQ, 1, 2 CS, Rec Coy's and OPR 's.
Arbroath (RM Condor) is more than suitable, particularly if geared to the TA side of life (close Grangemouth & move all specialist REME to Scotland so we can say there is a Scottish REME Bn ). There have been rumours the Marines are moving for years. The only thing against it would be very limited customers for the regular side of things (no day job) .
Whats wrong with Bordon? Once the TTA has moved to Wales there is a dedicated trg area, more than one or two accommodation blocks and lots more officers to mess the troops about (or is this the reason to create new Bns, to keep senior officers in jobs ). CVHQ could be moved to combine with the regular Bn HQ which could also provide a base to the specialist TA, then you could close Louisberg completely.
isn't it 101 + 102 bn reme? both spread all over north west europe
