An amasing display today by the Dutch showing the appreciation of their liberation in 1945.

A turnout of young and old which is heartwarming, has been displayed by their Queen, to their Prime Minister, to their School Children. A great day that I have enjoyed remembering.

Lancasters flew missions to drop food when people were eating GRASS, such was the starvation shortly after the war ended.

To see the level of acknowledgment today has been humbling.

It's been my adopted country having come to live here, but they don't forget how they got what they have, my hat is off to every one of them.

They call it Freedom Day or Vrijheid.
  2. Nice to see some appreciation from the Dutch ...... Fair play to them. :D
  3. Was over there on Tuesday laying wreaths for fallen airmen in Rotterdam, Spijkinesse and Rieshil. Absolutely love the hospitality shown by all the Dutch. I almost feel ashamed to be British sometimes. The fed and watered us and made us feel so welcome.
