Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. 25th-26th September 2010
    The Staffordshire Regiment Museum
    Whittington Barracks, Lichfield Staffordshire.

Postponed from last year due to pikey invasion at the museum. Salute to 500 years of fighting under the Stafford Knot Banner. Going back to the mid 15th Century under Henry Stafford Duke of Buckingham and crossing half a century to the Second World.

Just a bit of a plug as I'll be there with the C15th lot. Have a fun time in the beer tent taking the piss out of people portraying C15th, C18th, C19th & C20th soldiers. Alternatively, bring the kids, ask us lots of questions about the period we are portraying and have a go with our weapons & armour if you ask nicely, oo er.

Good luck to you. My grandfather was commissioned into the 4th N Staffs as a Militia officer in 1905 (regular commission into E Lancs May 1908, served in a large variety of different regiments to 1922).
