A friend has his Great Grandfather’s medal and is trying to put together the miniatures. He’s got the mini medals but can’t get the proper bars. I’ve suggested that 3D printing might offer a solution.

Is there any one out there who might be able to help?

GGFather wearing his medals, the full size and the minis sans bars.

Now, those are a thing of beauty :)

. . . as to mounting brooches, they are out there and as cheap as chips:

as an example.

I could print them for you but I don't think the quality would do justice to the medals, far better to go with @FourZeroCharlie suggestion above.

If you get really stuck then I'll do them but they wouldn't be as good as the 'real thing'.

That’s brilliant. I told my chum about 40Cs suggestions and we’re waiting out to hear from them. I asked my usual suppliers and drew blank.
