  1. Very sad. Was that their first in this campaign?

    I was in the Ypres area a couple of years ago. The number of NZ casualties during WW1 in proportion to the size and population of the country was absolutely staggering. They are very truly our friends.

  2. As at the 5th August 7 New Zealand service personnel had been killed in Afghanistan

  7. The female, a nurse Sister Cowper in 1966, died in Vietnam was on active service but died of cerbral malaria.

    Doesn't make it any better.
