In early 1972, 2nd Field were stationed at Musgrave Park Hospital. A young man attached to the Regiment from a Field Ambulance was shot by an ND from another member of that Field Ambulance. I know all the details of how he was shot but don't know his name and cannot find any mention of him on the Palace Barracks Memorial.
I'm unsure whether the young man was RAMC or RCT but the shooter was RCT. Does anyone know where I can find the name of this young man?

BTW, the shooter was found 'Not Guilty' of Manslaughter.

Cheers Spanny, Searched the Cain project, no mention of the incident.
I know he was shot in a barracks by an ND but it's as if the lad didn't exist.

He was RCT and his name was Porter cant remember his first name,, he was shot by a friend unloading the mag on his SLR using the cocking lever, the person doing it thought he had emptied the mag but then to show he had emptied it , he pulled the trigger, and the gun went off , the round 7.62 went through Porter, through the wall ( about 15 inches above me on the top bunk in the next room ... the round went on to 3 other rooms befor leaving the building, it was never recovered ... 4 of us made a blanket strecher and rushed him to the A&E , but he was already dead .....porter was the driver for the medic unit with Andy currie
