Is my assumption correct, that your next week's worth of venison suppers was offed with the ammo in the thread title, or are you just using the thread as aIve only just butchered him, I would have left him hanging for longer but the shepherd wants the chiller for real ale and it cant be that cold.

And was that the very first time you've hunted with the round? It was indeed, a 140 grain loading of .280/30
No I have used it on quite a few deer so far, I am hoping to improve the load with a heavier bullet this year but at the moment the 120 and 140 grain loading is sufficient for the deer available. And was that the very first time you've hunted with the round?
It seems to have done the job fairly neatly. Does that mean you've concluded the trial or are there more variations to be compared in the field?
I await further reports with my usual uninformed curiosityNo I have used it on quite a few deer so far, I am hoping to improve the load with a heavier bullet this year but at the moment the 120 and 140 grain loading is sufficient for the deer available.

ETA: on the plus side I’ve lost well over 11 stones so it’s not all bad
Unfortunately it’s left me as weak as a newborn kitten something the physio nazis don’t seem to understandLosing 11 stone be like like carrying 5 less Charlie-Gs - What a relief that must be!
I have up until recently only told family and close friends and the moderators closed area in case it was worse or didn’t pan out but fingers crossed so far it’s getting better although having my sternum removed in surgery means I may not be able to shoot as I used to sadlyI had no idea: keep it up, and good luck.
