20 Years today since the Law was changed - Gays in the Armed Forces

It hasnt been like that in 20 or more years. I dont think it is appropriate to parade around in crotch-less leather trousers while leading a man in a gimp suit around on all fours. Small children tend to become upset by such things and it's hard to explain this away to a 6 year old when they see if on the way to a visit to the British Museum

It's got nothing to do with being gay or not. for example, I dont walk around tesco doing my shopping in a gimp suit with a rubber ball in my mouth. Thats for tuesday and thursday evening only, behind closed doors.

I also fail to see why police officers, who are there on duty, should be dancing and joining in after getting their faces painted or why ever corporation looking to sell their wares to the gays need to be getting involved.

Most, the overwhelming majority of us, don't care if you are gay or not. It's your business but being gay does not excuse a person from maintaining some semblance of normal social conduct.
They're obvious fetishists and/or Furries

I like it when there are photos of the gimps with soldiers in uniform. You never hear the MOD talking about bringing the military into disrepute for some reason.

I know places where nice handsome chaps dress up in rubber suits and respirators.

And later put on their LBD to hit the town

I'm bored with it too.

I was just explaining the difference between straight pride and gay pride. Not whether I agree with it or not.

It's what happens when you have soldiers under your command or people close to you who have to go through certain stuff for things beyond their control. You try to appreciate what it must be like etc.

Well of you'd been born straight I'd imagine it wouldn't be an issue so long as you're able to convince a Tinderella to hook up with you long enough to bear the fruit of your loins...
Let me get this straight...in your scenario, homosexuality is the norm and heterosexuality is considered a deviation and meets with the disapproval of the overwhelming majority of society? Are you sure you have thought the implications through?

Your whole unit was out?
Well, it was a R SIGNALS unit!*

*I’ll say it first, to avoid the obvious come back from other cap badges!
We were also being trained by the Marines, so there was lots of cross dressing going on!

The question really nowadays is when will straights be equal with gays? Àt the moment there is no equality. Until there is real equality these topics will continue to be raised.

In the early 90s one Sgt G*** B**** decided to extract revenge upon me by trying to have my CR written to imply I was gay.
He was all huffy cos whenever I was duty barman I wouldnt serve him alcohol when he was on duty.

I also didn't believe that his red eyes were from conjunctivitis. Not after it went on for months.

The OC rewrote the entire thing without his input. These days it wouldn't cause any issues at all other than (probably) not being relevant on a annual report.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick..?

My original post was a "shoe on the other foot" scenario. I was just thinking that's what it was like for them, and proposing what it would be like for us (straight types).

That's the problem. Unfortunately there's very vocal minority supported by the more 'woke' people that accepting them isn't enough. If you don't absolutely love them and their lifestyle then you're (insertname)phobic and need to lose your job and be vilified by society.

I really couldn't care less if somebody is gay or not, i just wish that everyone would stop making such a big deal about it and going on about it all the time.
It's been politicised to the point where just when you think that it's an issue (a very private issue) that has finally gone away, some idiot activist brings it up again.
Gay Pride, the event, has a lot to answer for in this regard. What somebody get's up to in their private life is their business, nobody elses and having an international event where everyone dresses up in bondage gear is demeaning and embarrassing.
Quite so. It's gone from "The love that dare not speak its name", to the one that won't shut the fcuk up about it.

No shit? I know that, my point was that wtf does this have to do with being gay and why do people think it appropriate to do this in the cold light of day.

It's almost as if they want us all to think that all gay people are raving pervs.
I know a few furries with quite responsible day jobs in the civil service, they go to fur meets in the cold light of day in public, and why not it's a free world

I'd be more worried about having Jihadis as neighbours, furries only Yif amongst each other after all

In fairness that does sound like you are a poof.

I literally took my nieces to the British Museum last year and had to explain all of this to them while we moved through London. I'm afraid that they are just too young to understand any of it and I dont want them to have to understand why people do that stuff.

It's not a free world, not really, not as long as we share it with each other and as long as we have governments but i don't object to people doing this at all, i regularly enjoy being handcuffed and zipped up inside a holdall while being urinated on and force-fed faeces, after decades of watching harder and harder core porn on the internet, anything else seems a bit milk toast.

I just dont see what this has to do with Gay Pride and I dont see why it has to be done in central london on a saturday lunchtime.

Clearly the old policy was wrong as it meant competent soldiers were forced out / didn't join up in the first place.

However it seems to be the latest cash in for ambulance chasers trying to claim compensation going back to year dot. People who were gay and joined an organisation which did not allow gays at the time should have understood the risk of being found out.
Did females signing up in the dark ages get told that if they fell "with child" they got booted with little help or care?
