  1. Hi Gents,

My Zero Alpha is a Guide leader and as a result of their 100th anniversary is organising a number of Centenary events, because of this we've got chatting over what form camping out took on those days, what with Scouts and Guides taking a lot of their equipment and ideas from the military of the time it might assist in some of their commemorative activities.

So, I understand the Army of the time, (1910), in fixed camps used bell tents, central kitchens etc, but I wondered what personal kit a soldier of the time would carry?
Bedding, kfs, mug plate? Firelighting gear? Palliase cover? What else?
Also if they were to go out on a scouting mission or longer patrol would they take a basha or small tent of some description?

If anyone has any info I'd be fascinated to hear about it!
    Thanks in advance,
    Smudge
