Sorry to be a geek but the www has been around 15 years, however:

www does not equal internet.

It could easily be argued that some form of "internet" existed as far back as the late 1960s.

I was using many internet applications as far back as the 1980s (hardly prehistoric!)...

Probably of more importance was the invention of the pc 25 years ago, I spent some student vacation time assembling IBM ps1 and ps2 machines, many moons ago.

<geek mode =off> :D

And to be equally geeky, 25 years ago saw the invention of the IBM compatible Computer, which has evolved into what we now know as the PC. Pedant mode off!!

I've had a little education on the development of the Internet/WWW. One interesting thing to note is that during the development of basic email software (pre x400), the programme was neally shelved as the scientists couldnt see a valid reason for developing email capability. How wrong they were!!!

Too true Boney, I worked for an organisation where the boss quite literally said "No-one will ever use email, it's the modern equivalent of CB radio for sad fukcers" This was in the 90s, not really that long ago in the grand scheme of things.

Mind you, he was an unbelievably thick cnut. :D
