Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have had a petition to 10 Downing Street accepted it reads.

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Hasten the
time it is taking the Oxfordshire coroner to complete the
    inquests into military deaths

Bereaved families are having to wait for years for the
Oxfordshire Coroners Office to hold inquests into military
Ms Harman admitted this week that the situation was
"unacceptable" yet there are 106 military cases to deal with.
In order to stop the morale of the services sinking lower I
urge the Prime Minster to ask The Minister of State, Department
for Constitutional Affairs to intervene and hasten these

Please take the time to go to http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/inquests/
and sign the petition, for the sake of all the families.
  2. Come on Guys I posted this on pprune and loads of them have signed .Its not just for my son but for all the sons and daughters who have lost their lives.
  3. Signed.

The military have, correctly, sped up thier procedures for investigations into deaths; it is only right that, if the civilian world is to have an involvement, they similarly buck their ideas up.
  4. Signed - I've send the link around a few mates as well.
  5. I don't think that anyone's deliberately ignored this thread - I certainly haven't - but as threads get shunted off the front page so quickly, I doubt many have seen it - I certainly didn't till just now.

I can't access the petition site from work, but rest assured I will sign it later and send the link to family and friends and I'll post it on our sister sites Rum Ration and Rear Party.

My sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of Ben.

Say not in grief "he is no more" but live in thankfulness that he was.

    good luck
  7. signed!!...its also on rear party....
  8. Keep signing guys we need as many as we can to make them sit up and take notice
  9. Done. It really shouldn't be so hard to amend the appropriate act to allow the inquests to be held in the county where the fallen soldier has come from. This would speed up the process and allow the families closer access. This just shouldn't be so hard to sort out.. Its not like any MP would dare to reject such an amendment.
  10. Signed willingly, but no matter the numbers signing, if they don't want to do anything they won't - remember road tolls?
  11. We are getting towards 1,000 now, keep signing Guys and Girls.

  12. Duly signed sir.
