Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

  1. Hi guys.

I am in the process of rejoining the army and am considering 1 Scots as they are coming to Palace Bks for a length of time and I am from NI
Basically if I got 12 years out of them I'd be at my 22 year point.

Does anyone know how long they are coming.for? And when?
  2. Before you rejoin obtain specific details with regards to your pension and the total qualifying time required. I'm sure that you might have to serve 18 years to qualify if your break in service is over 30 days.

  3. It most certainly is over 30 days, I was out for two years and I'm now on an FTRS HC contract and hace been for the last 4 years.

Would anyone know how the pension would work??
  4. If you've not already you would probably be better of searching/posting your question about your pension here: Armed Forces Pension Scheme
  5. How long we,l be there depends on all this shite on Scottish Independance.
  6. I take it its not a popular choice for the battalion???
NI money is a nice addition to pay ;)

  9. well yes, but LOA was better in Germany along with tax free beer and ciggies
  10. Kinda a mute point though since we are discussing NI. and 1 Scots are going there.....

  11. Disregard the 30 day thing, it was a mistake. I'm sure you would need to serve 18 years from date of re-entry to qualify for a Full Pension. I would clarify this before you sign on the dotted line.

  12. OK thanks.

Would need to definitely give that some thought.

At 29 would I be on an S type contract do you think?
