What did you use for the sails thin cotton? The tarred rigging looks realistic. Like it!!!

tissue paper soaked in a solution of white glue and water, placed over the kit sails, dried and peeled off, they don't have that plastic look of the kit sails. I'll see if I can restore the build again.
