Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. There is an author talk at Prince Consort's Library in Aldershot on Wednesday 23rd November 2011 called ‘Writing a memoir. How to capture, preserve and publish your story - and why you should bother’ by Alison Baverstock

Alison’s new book The Naked Author is, her publishers claim, the first dignified book on self-publishing. It takes a pragmatic look at the subject, and discusses how there is no one single thing that is self-publishing – because author motivations and possible formats are so varied. A former publisher, and now Course Leader for MA Publishing at Kingston University, Alison brings her experience of the industry to advise authors on whether self-publishing is appropriate for them, and if so how to go about planning their pathway.

The talks at the Library are usually only for serving military personnel but this time we will be happy to welcome ex service personnel but places must be reserved by contacting the Library. If you would like to attend please ring 01252 349382 or email pcllibrs@alibs.detsa.co.uk to book a place.
