Gabriele Esposito has produced a follow on to Wellington’s Infantry (reviewed March 2021).

The self-declared aim of the book is to present a detailed overview of the organisation uniforms and equipment of these groups in the Napoleonic wars. The quality of the work is excellent with 7 chapters, a good bibliography and a very brief index.

The chapters are set out in a logical order with The Life Guards and Horse Guards in the first chapter. The work includes both regular and Yeomanry units and such diverse formations as the Sea Fencibles.

As with the previous work the illustrations are to a high standard and will be a good source book for artists and military modellers. The civilian contractor of The Artillery Train pictured on page 119 has a charm all of its own.

The book is published by Pen and Sword to their usual standard and runs to 130 pages on glossy paper. Cover price £20 seems a little high but there are copies from £12.44 on Amazon.
