  • Thanks for the tip I will give it a go. A stall in the market sells Upton's pies and they are the best I have tried since the butchers in Daron was shut and pulled down to make way for executive housing

Bloody Nora - he was my grandad! You'll probably know my mum, Sheila.

He died about eight years ago basically of dementia. The outdoor chapel at Silverwood has a stone dedicated to him & my grandma.

    Small world!
Out of curiosity again, were you a Scout leader? One of mine was ex army but I can't remember his name.

No I got as far as patrol leader but I left for the wide world before I was old enough/
I was in at the same time as his son Alan who also left to join the forces (RAF Regt but I promise not to mention it on the main site.
I have not been to Siverwood since I first left. I was also a venture scout when the group leader was big Eddie the policeman.
I think vaguely remember your mum but it was a long time ago

The market stall that sells the upton pies also boasts of being "the sole tripe seller in the market". Good luck, I cannot abide the stuff..
