I think I know something about this pic. Taken circa late 1930's on the opening of Gatow airfield in Berlin. If correct, my room was in the block in the above piccy!
No mate,sorry, this is Flugplatz Gutersloh.The garrison marched from the now Mansergh barracks to recieve the keys from the Mayor
It looks very similiar! RAF Gatow HQ had a display of the base from it's time leading upto WW2 and some of the pic's were of parades outside the accomodation blocks like the one above.
Most german accom/barracks block of the inter-war years look very similar. Some of the blocks in Herford are exactly the same as this one
Thank god for that, I thought the guy in the middle was cleaning the windows.
