Why do you get sentimental about the SLR....... it was a big heavey bag of innacurate w@nk that didn't hold its zero, it didn't even look cool and a good shot struggled to get shots at over 200yds regulalry on target.
MDN - you must have been a pish-poor shot if you struggled to hit the target over 200 yards with the SLR.
Good enough ...... I just don't think the SLR was a particularly accurate bit of kit, and for the life of me can't understand why people rant about it.
As a former Royal we zeroed our SLR's at 200yds and even serving in the REME, I remember getting 10 clean head shots at 300yds all in the face area of the target. Just goes to prove the old saying that a poor tradesman always blames his tools and not himself
