The ARRSE QM's section has forums for discussing all manner of military clothing, equipment and rations. Everything is covered from military boots and webbing all the way to massive defence procurement projects such as tanks, planes and ships.
Any subject related to military administration is discussed in here. This includes military allowances. discipline, claims and annual reports. We've also got a dedicated forum for the Armed Forces Pension scheme, sponsored by the Forces Pension Society, and the Armed Forces Redundancy Scheme 2010. Last but not least is our military medals forum!
If you interested in find out more about an Army career then this is the area for you. We've got separate forums for joining as an officer or soldier in the regular or Territorial Army. This includes information on what to expect during the British Army Recruit Battery (BARB) test and Army Officer Selection Board (AOSB). There are also discussions on what you need for Phase 1 training and at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS).
At some point everyone will leave the Army and this is about what happens next! Information/discussion about resettlement and the courses/education available. Also the opportunity to talk about jobs and offer them if you're looking to employ someone.
Got a hobby or extra-curricular interest then our forums should cover it! This includes everything from science to poetry via cookery and military history. Also lots of hat about cars and motorbikes for the petrol heads out there.
These boards should cover most of the British Army's recent operational deployments including Northern Ireland (Op BANNER), Iraq (Op GRANBY and Op TELIC), Former Yugoslavia (lots!) and of course the Falkland Islands (Op CORPORATE). Afghanistan (Op HERRICK) will be arriving here soon!
The British Army isn't really a single organisation but a loosely allied group of warring tribes united by our dislike of the Royal Air Force. Somewhere in this list you should be able to find a board for your cap badge, Regiment or Corps. For the sake of completeness we've also included the Royal Navy/Royal Marines and (spit) Royal Air Force. There is even room for the Territorial Army (TA), University Officer Training Corps (UOTC) and Army/Combined Cadet Force.
