Shipwright is one of the unknown trades in the Army. They are apart of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers(REME)and are based in Southampton. They are highly skilled tradesmen with a range of different skills. On the basic class 3 course they are expected to complete the following:-

- Welding- Oxy-Acetylene, Manual Metal Arc, Metal Inert Gas and Tungsten Inert Gas
- Sheet metal work and heat treatment
- Composite material repair techniques
- Carpentry
- Soldering
- Cutting and Brazing

These are just some of the trade skills to make it as a REME Shipwright.
