One of the nations that formed part of the Former Republic of Yugoslavia and is now an independent state. British troops first deployed there in 1992 as part of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) and have been there ever since, first as part of the NATO led Implementation Force (IFOR) and then the Stabilisation Force (SFOR).

Bill Bryson in one of his earlier books, Neither Here Nor There: Travels in Europe , talked about the beautiful, unobtainable women and he was spot on. Right up until the moment they smiled and you realised that toothpaste & toothbrushes hadn't quite travelled this far yet.
