The precursor to the Ministry of Defence in a time when everyone (even politicians) were a bit more honest than they are now. Today if Tony had his way the M.O.D. would probably be renamed the Ministry of Enforced Aid and Infrastructure Remodeling.
Re-titled in 1964.
