The Rifles is a large regiment of the British Army formed from the amalgamation of four light infantry and rifle regiments. It consists of 7 battalions (two of which are TA) with the following roles:

- 1st Battalion The Rifles - Light Role (3 Commando Brigade)

- 2nd Battalion The Rifles - Light Role

- 3rd Battalion The Rifles - Light Role

- 4th Battalion The Rifles - Mechanised

- 5th Battalion The Rifles - Armoured

- 6th Battalion The Rifles - TA Reserve

- 7th Battalion The Rifles - TA Reserve
