East and West Riding Regiment
The EWRR was a TA infantry regiment that recruited throughout most of Yorkshire. It was made up of three cap badges:
The sub-units were:
Waterloo (HQ) Company - Based at Minden House, Pontefract.
Fontenay Company - Based at Barnsley with a Det in Sheffield.
Quebec Company - Based in Hull with a Det in Leeds.
Ypres Company - Based at Huddersfield with a Det in Keighley.
Minden Company - Based at Wakefield, no the home of 299 Para Sqn RE.
On 6th June 2006 the regiment became known as the 4th Battalion, the Yorkshire Regiment.
