Member of the CVR(T) series, its main role is as a small APC or Recce vehicle.
The Spartan is a very small APC, that can only carry four men in addition to the crew of three. It is therefore used to carry small specialised groups such as the reconnaissance teams, air defence sections, mortar fire controllers and ambush parties.
A further variant, the Spartan MCT is fitted with a with Milan Compact Turret.
The Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance Tracked (CVRT) is a series of vehicles, which includes Fv 101 Scorpion, Fv 102 Striker, Fv 104 Samaritan, Fv 105 Sultan, Fv 106 Samson and Fv 107 Scimitar.
The Spartan is also in service with Belgium, Oman and Philippines.
