A war film made by the Spams in 1998. Famous for making D Day look as though only American forces took part and the British just sat back, drank tea and munched on cucumber sandwiches.

The story is based on a soldier, James Ryan, losing three brothers in combat. The War Department feels guilty and afraid they'll be sued to shit, so they send a unit - led by Tom Hanks to go find the lad.

It is based on a true story about the four Niland Brothers. Two are killed in the first two days of the Normandy invasion. The same day the third brother an airman in the Pacific is in an aircraft reported missing. The fourth brother is pulled out of combat and sent home to mother.

Actually the third brother is OK as well because his aircraft turns up. Oh and they don't send a fighting patrol of Rangers behind German lines to find the missing para. They send in a padre because its a straightforward G1 matter and even the US airborne can work out where their own men are.
