New regiment formed in 2006 out of the Royal Regiment of Wales and the Royal Welch Fusiliers.
Manged to get throughout the process of amalgamation relatively easily.
Consists of three battalions.
- 1st Battalion - formerly 1RWF
- 2nd Battalion - formerly 1RRW
- 3rd Battalion - formerly Royal Welsh Regiment (V) (ex-3RWF & 2RRW TA)
