Piss Bottle

[edit] PACKING A PERSONAL PEE BOTTLE
Getting out of a Sleeping Bag in the middle of the night for a pee makes you cold, wakes your mates, and if you are belayed halfway up a mountain, can be seriously dangerous. Eating dehydrated rations (as you do in the arctic and on mountaineering trips) requires you to drink loads of water after a meal to avoid waking up with mouth like dry sandpaper. Then in the early hours, you need a pee.
The obvious answer is to pack a light but large water bottle with a wide opening and secure screw top, in the bottom of your sleeping bag. The larger the better; there's nothing worse than a long relaxing pee ending in damp panic as you overflow. For peace of mind, I recommend four pint capacity - like the plastic milk containers you get in supermarkets.
The technique is to tip the bottle at an angle and use it while you're lying on your side. And afterwards, there's nothing like drifting back to sleep with a nice warm bottle at your feet.
I expect ladies can also make use of this tip. Perhaps somebody with the relevant expertise can describe the necessary technique?
Tip: If you are making use of this technique, make sure that you can tell your waterbottle and your pissbottle apart in the dark.
