Pegasus Bridge

The assault on the Bridge over the Caen Canal by D Company the Oxford & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, lead by Major John Howard.
The landing was a daring precision glider assault to capture the bridge and protect the West most flank of the invading force. The operation was a success and they were able to send the code 'Ham & Jam' to inform the command of the fact. They were relieved at 13:00 on the 6th of june by the 1st Special Services Brigade from the beaches.
