PDTF - Project Doomed To Failure. Don't you just love these? Everyone can see that it's never going to work... apart from the cnut that dreamt the whole thing up in the first place. By far the greatest exponent of the PDTF is MoD(PE), closely followed by a Labour government - any Labour government. See also White elephant.
