Ortlieb's are hard as nails waterproof sacks that would keep a poppadom dry in a Brecon downpour. Sometimes called "Canoe bags" they come in a variety of different sizes from rocket pouch to whole bergan and are a sound if slightly expensive investment. All outdoor shops will sell them.
