Mumbai
From ARRSEpedia
Originally called Bombay (when the British ran things), Mumbai and its 19 million residents constituted India financial capital and is its largest city. Many of these financial services jobs are in fact British.
Currently with the mania for sending British jobs to foreigners, many British companies (ie Abbey National, Capita, BT) have been exporting the UK's rapidly dwindling job supply to Indians who frankly ...
- cant understand spoken english that has any sort of accent (ie about 99% of us)
- cant actually do anything as they work from tightly restricted scripts due to the huge possibility of fraud/theft
- make so many mistakes that entire teams of UK workers have to spend all day correcting them
If it wasn't for the entertainment generated by reading the customer complains, this would a totally pointless exercise but still it goes on as many execs have staked their careers on cost savings that are rapidly dwindling as the pound goes tits up.
