Weird kinky cage bed thingie issued to civvies during WW2.
It was used under a table either as a Bed/Dog cage/Sex toy etc to protect from bomb blast/shrapnel/debris etc.
Not to be confused with the Anderson Shelter which had to be dug into your garden.
