Fabled headwear which grants God-like powers to grubby 'hats' (like me) and turns them into invincible überwarriors. The beret is most famously worn - and with great aplomb - by members of the Parachute Regiment.

Don't be confused though. This particular coloured beret is not the true symbol of power. It is in fact the wings on the smock that indicate someone who is God-like. The maroon beret was worn by para-trained members of 5 Airborne Brigade and now all members of its successor 16 Air Assault Brigade whether para-trained or not; presumably to make some hat officer look more ally.
