The MTU was a single spanned Armoured Vehicle launched bridge, based on the T-55. The span was 12.3m long, 3.27m wide and was capable of carrying class 60 traffic.

It could be launched by its 2 man crew in 3 minutes who do not need to expose themselves (Matron!) thus making it extremely useful when the bridge crossing is a little hot.
