Korean War
One of the first major conflicts between Communism and the West, started when Soviet-supported North Korea invaded South Korea, June 25 1950. The war lasted until an armistice was signed over three years later, on July 27 1953. UK forces joined the United Nations command.
Often given very little historical space compared to WW2 or the subsequent controversial conflict in Vietnam.
