Kiss of Life
From ARRSEpedia
A now rather old fashioned name for artificial respiration. Also known as mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and even Expired Air Resuscitation (EAR) for those that like to show off.
All military personal are trained to give EAR in both standard and gas (CBRN) environments, using a variety of methods, as part of regular First Aid training.
Probably the most important thing to remember when giving mouth-to-mouth is to pinch the recipient’s nostrils. Doing so avoids getting a lump of high-velocity snot in your ear.
