One of those bits of kit which, if truth be told, is worth getting your wallet out and buying at Silverman's or somewhere else which flogs them, if you don't get one issued.

Basically, a robust daysack with side- and lid-pouches. It's big enough to take a softie Sleeping Bag, bivi and therm-a-rest, together with a cooker, rations, radio batteries etc, without becoming too FOGB and unwieldy.
