Gun position

In the good old days, the gun position was where a GPO would place his guns where they could be kept under his watchful eye, violators of his beautiful track plan could be chastised and the CPO slapped to make him keep up with the Fire Plan.

These days, with AS 90 and MLRS, the gun position has been replaced with an Artillery Manoeuvre Area or AMA, where the guns are hundreds of metres apart and keep shuffling about.

Gun positions are still used for Light Gun, under the control of the BK after the BRO has picked some gun platforms.
