Second most populous city in Switzerland (after Zürich) and oddly the second best place to live in the world (also after Zürich ... gods how they hate Zürich!)
The deeply annoying (if you are a Spam) Geneva Convention was signed here which says you aren't allowed to give prisoners of war a total beasting once captured. Obviously this benefits the French more than any other nationality!
Location of the Jet d'Eau or water jet fountain ... oh those whacky Swiss with their off the wall names! The water goes up 140 metres (459 feet) and was the most memorable part of the TV show The Champions apart from Alexandra Bastedo arrse.
