GS Blankets
From ARRSEpedia
Having to use GS Blankets is like trying to sleep inside a bath of hungry ants.
Originally knitted in the Boer War out of barb wire these sons of bitches are indestructible and have been around ever since. Why do you think quilts are banned on training courses? It gives the Cadre something to chuckle over, especially when they see your skin rash on PT.
They can be used to wax and shine a floor, remove rust from metal, put out kitchen fires, stop nerve gas, isolate molten lava but not for sleeping in.
Allegedly, examples of Roman Army standard issue GS blankets have been dug up by members of Channel Four's "Timeteam". Reclaimed by Ministry of Defence and issued to ATEs around the country.
